Sometimes things just don't work out.

Have you been looking for something that's just not in my shop? Did you know I welcome custom orders? I'm happy to work with you on something special just for you!!

I recently had a customer who wanted just that!! We worked together for about a week to figure out what exactly it was she was looking for. I went to work looking at patterns making a couple of testers for her to see. Unfortunately, it still wasn't what she was looking for. This happens sometimes. So off I went looking, I was able to find something that turned out perfect for her. So I let her know that I had found it and referred her to another artisan's shop. Then followed up with her to make sure that she had found that perfect item.

There are times when I just don't have the right patterns or am not able to produce what you are looking for. I will however help you to find that item or an artisan who can make that item for you. I'm not one to drop the ball back into your lap (so to speak).

So drop by my shop and have a look around. Always remembering that should you not see what you are looking for, you can always ask and know I'm there to help.

Happy Holidays!!

Yes, I'm one of those people who says, "Happy Holidays". Nope not so I don't offend anyone, but simply to cover them all. If we don't celebrate it, then we probably have friends that do. Most of the time it's simply easier than trying to remember what day it is, lol.

The month starts out with Chanukkah (Hanukkah), then we have national cookie day, St. Nicholas Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, and New Year's Eve! There a many more fun things to celebrate during the month if you can fit them in between guests and shopping. You can do a search for "List of December Special Days" and find lists upon lists. One of our favorites is that December is Read a New Book Month, which as many of you know we never leave this till the end of the year. If you haven't read a new book this year, grab one of the many books out there and start reading.

So to each of you I wish a Happy Holidays or

Happy Chanukkah!
Happy St. Nicholas Day!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Boxing Day!
Habari gani?
and last but not least:
Happy New Year!

No matter what you may celebrate, or where, may it be joyful and bright this year and all those to follow!!

Crazy times, and vaction modes.

Hello all!! I know it's been some time since I've written. As you all know I started back to school. Well I've had that which wouldn't be to bad but then I've been pretty sick for about a month in a half to two months. They've figured out what's going on but I'm going to be having surgery next month on the 10th. So on the first I'll be putting my shop on artfire on vacation mode. You should still be able to see things you just won't be able to purchase anything. After this surgery I should be good in a few weeks. Until then I hope you will check out the other shops on artfire if you are looking for those little things to make a gift something extra special with a handmade touch. Until then keep me in your thoughts as I will keep you all in mine.

Double Duty

Well first let me say that I'm sorry for completely spacing last week!! Our girls started school last week and then today was my first day back to school in 15 years. So my mind was a bit out of it last week, to say the least. To make up for it I've posted a number of new items that I hope you'll like.

I've added more crocheted ribbons, a new empty sachet and some of the larger doilies that I have. My favorite out of the lot is the black and white ruffled doily I have a picture of here. This is made for a small round table so that the edge can hang over and allow the ruffles to hang naturally.

I don't starch any of the items I crochet since the starch can yellow over time. All my crocheted items can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water and your favorite detergent. After washing simply lay the item(s) out to air dry flat. You can iron the item(s) on a low heat setting if you wish to press them.

All my shop items are made in a smoke and pet free home. They are stored in plastic containers with lavender to keep the plastic smell and critters away.

Tuesay's Musings

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend as much as we did. My husband had a four day weekend and we all enjoyed having him home. It's been a rare treat for us. In my shop yesterday I added a doiley and some new sachets. I'll be adding another doiley and some placemats with napkin ties later on today. Don't forget to stop by and see them.

Holiday Mood

Well today I was in a bit of a holiday mood I guess because I've added holdiay items to my shop. I guess having my husband home finally put me into it, lol! I even started a Christmas afghan this week that I'm hoping will turn out nice. I hope you will stop by and check out the ornaments, boxes and eggs that I've added in the "Hand Painted" section in Golly Mezzo on Artfire.
