Happy Holidays!!

Yes, I'm one of those people who says, "Happy Holidays". Nope not so I don't offend anyone, but simply to cover them all. If we don't celebrate it, then we probably have friends that do. Most of the time it's simply easier than trying to remember what day it is, lol.

The month starts out with Chanukkah (Hanukkah), then we have national cookie day, St. Nicholas Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, and New Year's Eve! There a many more fun things to celebrate during the month if you can fit them in between guests and shopping. You can do a search for "List of December Special Days" and find lists upon lists. One of our favorites is that December is Read a New Book Month, which as many of you know we never leave this till the end of the year. If you haven't read a new book this year, grab one of the many books out there and start reading.

So to each of you I wish a Happy Holidays or

Happy Chanukkah!
Happy St. Nicholas Day!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Boxing Day!
Habari gani?
and last but not least:
Happy New Year!

No matter what you may celebrate, or where, may it be joyful and bright this year and all those to follow!!

Crazy times, and vaction modes.

Hello all!! I know it's been some time since I've written. As you all know I started back to school. Well I've had that which wouldn't be to bad but then I've been pretty sick for about a month in a half to two months. They've figured out what's going on but I'm going to be having surgery next month on the 10th. So on the first I'll be putting my shop on artfire on vacation mode. You should still be able to see things you just won't be able to purchase anything. After this surgery I should be good in a few weeks. Until then I hope you will check out the other shops on artfire if you are looking for those little things to make a gift something extra special with a handmade touch. Until then keep me in your thoughts as I will keep you all in mine.

Double Duty

Well first let me say that I'm sorry for completely spacing last week!! Our girls started school last week and then today was my first day back to school in 15 years. So my mind was a bit out of it last week, to say the least. To make up for it I've posted a number of new items that I hope you'll like.

I've added more crocheted ribbons, a new empty sachet and some of the larger doilies that I have. My favorite out of the lot is the black and white ruffled doily I have a picture of here. This is made for a small round table so that the edge can hang over and allow the ruffles to hang naturally.

I don't starch any of the items I crochet since the starch can yellow over time. All my crocheted items can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water and your favorite detergent. After washing simply lay the item(s) out to air dry flat. You can iron the item(s) on a low heat setting if you wish to press them.

All my shop items are made in a smoke and pet free home. They are stored in plastic containers with lavender to keep the plastic smell and critters away.

Tuesay's Musings

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend as much as we did. My husband had a four day weekend and we all enjoyed having him home. It's been a rare treat for us. In my shop yesterday I added a doiley and some new sachets. I'll be adding another doiley and some placemats with napkin ties later on today. Don't forget to stop by and see them.

Holiday Mood

Well today I was in a bit of a holiday mood I guess because I've added holdiay items to my shop. I guess having my husband home finally put me into it, lol! I even started a Christmas afghan this week that I'm hoping will turn out nice. I hope you will stop by and check out the ornaments, boxes and eggs that I've added in the "Hand Painted" section in Golly Mezzo on Artfire.

New Monday Old Problem!

I'm posting to let you all know that I'm sorry I didn't get any more of the ribbons up like I had told you I was going to. Once again I did something to my computer and I'm not sure what I did. As many of you know this is not a new thing for me, just a repeated event, lol. So I don't have the software to do the photos. But I should be up and running next week as I just found out that my hubby should be home today or tomorrow!! Once he has settled in and the girls are done running him over he'll have my computer up and running in no time. Until then I hope that you will stop by my shop and artfire and see what it offered.

Sunday instead of Monday!

I'm a day early adding postings to my shop this week!! This week I've got the perfect addition for your projects. I've added some of the ribbons that I make for my projects at times. Now these ribbons can NOT be cut. If you cut them they'll simply unravel. I crochet them so one snip and they're done for. I've only added four for now but more will be coming so stop by soon!! If you are looking for ribbon(s) of a certain length, or colors and would like a private order, you can contact me through my shop!!

Polymer Clay Shapes

Are you looking for that little extra thing that will finish up your project? Sometimes stickers, cutouts, and etchings just don't seem to be the right thing. Today I've added doves, flowers and leaves to my shop. They are all made out of polymer clay and can add that extra little bit that you've been looking for.

Holidays

Can you believe that half the year is already over? For me this means looking ahead to the Christmas holidays! Seems early I know but when you make crafts things sometimes have to be planned ahead of time. If you wait till November when every one's having parties and eating turkey you've waited to long!! So this week I've added some of my hand painted wooden ornaments to my shop. Each one was hand painted by me and is unique, so only one is available. Since they are all hand painted, that's where you'll find them; under the hand painted category on the right hand side of my shop.

Artfire is doing a Christmas in July and I hope that you will check out my shop and other's shops as well. There are many things being offered, everything from handmade items, vintage items, design items and much much more!!

Vintage Patterns

I know it seems early to be thinking about Halloween but if you're like me and love making your own costumes then this is the time to be thinking about it. Starting early can give you plenty of time to do the sewing so that you're not rushing the night before. I have the perfect pattern for those of you who are wanting to do a Daniel Boon, or huntsman even. Just a bit of faux fir and the pattern for his hat. I hope you'll stop by my shop and check out the other patterns I've put up!

Children's sewing patterns

In my shop this Monday are patterns for children's clothes. Older patterns can gain new life with fabric from today! Add some favorite ribbon, or buttons for new looks too! Find them at their original prices in my shop! I'll be adding patterns for teens and adults too so check back soon for more!

Reindeer Appliques!

Okay so this week just must not be my week. Maybe it had something to do with me having to get my mouth worked on with the dentist. I took tons of pictures hoping to get some of the patterns I have up for you all. Went to edit them and realized that in every single one of them the backdrop had fallen, lol!! Oh well at least I've gotten one cute thing for you this week, all be it late!

I only have six of these cute little appliques. Maybe after I get all the items I have online I'll be able to make more for the holidays. Each reindeer applique is about 3 to 3 1/2 inches depending on how you set the antlers. These can easily be sewn to your project.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Well I try to get something new in my shop every Monday. Try being the operative word this week. Every time I started to think that I would be able to get outside to take the pictures I needed it would start to rain. And it's doing the samething today. I have a light box but it still doesn't do well inside. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to get some photos taken and put on for you all. Take heart though not all has been lost! During all the rain and waiting I've been creating. I hope you all will check back later in the week to see what's arrived.

Beautiful Babies!

I went looking to see what month more babies are born in. I found that everyone says something different, lol. Well it seems that everyone knows someone or knows someone who know someone that's having a baby. So today I posted baby blankets. I have many different sizes. Some are nice sized for cribs, others are perfect for bassinets or car seats. Girl, boy, not sure? I have them for all of those too!

Scrunchies.

For all of us that lived through the 80's you know what a scrunchie is. It's a simple way to add some color to a pony tail. It's also an easy way to make any little girls day. I just added scrunchies to my shop, I hope you like them.

Firsts all around.

I've been trying to get my shop up and running but with two little ones home for summer vacation it's been a bit more difficult than I expected. I do have some items up and am going to get more up on Sunday. I'm reserving that day for my shop this week.

I've been able to hit some of the forums on Artfire, where my shop is, at night before I head to bed. In doing so I've been quoted and havemy first outside link to my shop!! Yes I know for most of you out there this isn't a big thing but for me it's really cool!! I hope that you take a look and check out her blog, "I followed my bliss, now what??" as well as some of the other Artfire shops!

Until later,
Anni
